Welcome to the 716ers Elite AAU Basketball Association!
The Buffalo 716ers, members of the Premier Basketball League (PBL) east division, have fielded youth basketball teams in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The 716ers Elite AAU Basketball Association focuses on developing and training young athletes in basketball, sportsmanship, and athletic competition. This new club, called the 716ers Elite, will field both boys and girls teams for ages 8 through 18. There will be 9 divisionss for both the boys and girls: 8 & under, 9 years old, 10 years old, 11 years old, 12 years old, 13 years old, 14 years old, 15-16 year olds, and 17-18 year olds. The roster will consist of ten players per team.
The 716ers Elite AAU Basketball Association season begins April 1st through July 1st, 2015. The Registration Fees to participate in the 716ers Elite AAU Basketball Association is $500.00 for the regular season dates as noted above. A $250 deposit will become due May 1st, 2015. The balance of $250.00 will be due May 22nd. The $500.00 fee includes the cost of reversible uniforms (includes bags, hoodies, t-shirts), tournament fees, AAU registration fees, facility usage, insurance costs, and travel costs.
Each team will have a coach designated to their age group. Practice for each division will take place one or two times per week, depending on the availability of the gymnasium. Our practices will focus on the fundamentals, skills, and techniques of the game of basketball. Each coach will break down and assess each athleteâ??s skills. We believe the young athletes of today, do not get the proper training and skill work, necessary to make them competitive on the court. We have teams located in Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY, Syracuse, NY, Toronto (Canada), and Batavia, NY.
The teams will compete in at least six tournaments for our opening season. The tournaments begin at theend of May. All of the tournament will be local, which eliminates hotel costs, during our first season. The tournament locations are Buffalo (June 5th-7th), Rochester (May 23rd-24th, 30th-31st), Syracuse (June 12th-14th), and Canandaigua (June 13th-14th), NY.
